"History in the making"
After a very successful 2008/09 season, winning both the NDSL U8C league and the Johnville Cup, the Ashbourne Utd U8's became the youngest team in the Clubs History to win both a league and cup double.
The team headed off to Funtasia Waterpark Drogheda on Thursday 19th June for a well deserved party and presentation. The evening kicked off at 6.30pm with 90 minutes of fantastic fun splashing around in the activity pool and going on the super water slides, great fun was had by all, including the parents that joined in, they seemed to have more fun than the kids. After the splashing around we headed for our food and Champagne (Kids stuff only) to celebrate our seasons success.
We concluded our night with the presentation of our league and cup winners medals, and also the clubs participation trophy to each player.
For a team that's only 2 years in the running, these bunch of players have shown fantastic attitude/behaviour/dedication and the willingness to learn, and above all the enjoyment of having FUN as a team.
