PreSeason has kicked off with gusto and with the appointment of a new managerial team at the helm of the First Team the start of the season looks very promising.
Damien Jameson and Dave Ryan have stepped aside and taking over the reigns are Mick McBride and Ger McCarthy.
This appointment will mean that Ashbourne can look forward to benefiting from the pair's wealth of experience in Junior soccer and League of Ireland set ups.
Playing in PremierB again this season after an encouraging second half of the 2008/09 season, could Ashbourne be in line for some honors come May 2010?
Last year's first team management duo of Damien Jameson and Dave Ryan have taken over responsibility for the Second / Reserve team for the 2009/10 season.
Last year saw Ashbourne's second string rally late in the season and probably somewhat disappointed with not achieving promotion from Division 1a Saturday at least.
Hopefully this season will see a strong start to the campaign.
Tony Carroll and Aidan Ryan will be taking the helm of the Saturday Division 3 side for the coming season, no doubt they will be expecting to challenge for silverware on a number of fronts.
Last season this squad were unfortunate to be knocked out at the semi-final stage of the Frank Roe cup by the virtue of penalties, loosing out to the eventual winners.
Their league campaign started brilliantly, winning 7 out of the first 8 games, but their challenge wore off after the Christmas break.
Training for all squads takes place at 7pm sharp every Tuesday and Thursday at the Ashbourne Community Centre
